Wembley's Animal Themed Dress Up Day

On the final day of Term 2, the JSC committee hosted an Animal Themed Dress Up Day. It was fantastic to see students embrace the theme dressing as an array of different animals. Despite the rain, the lunchtime disco was a huge success with many students dancing away on the basketball court.

We were able to raise $867.80 that will be donated to Exford Primary School to help them fund wellbeing dogs at their school.

National Pyjama Day Fundraiser

Next Friday the 21st of July, the JSC Committee will be hosting their next fundraising event for National Pyjama Day. We encourage all students to wear their comfiest pyjamas and provide a gold coin donation. All monies raised will be donated directly to The Pyjama Foundation.

The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care. With the money raised from National Pyjama Day, we’ll be helping offer learning skills to more than 1000 children, fund educational resources and help provide stable, positive relationships. We currently have a goal to raise at least $1,000. If you would like to further support this cause, please add a donation to our WPS donation page by clicking the following link.

Should it rain on our planned 3-6 Athletics Day on Thursday the 20th of July, our fundraiser will shift to the following Friday 28th of July as we will use our backup day of the 21st of July for our Athletics Day.

Thank you

Book Week Author Visit

Andy Griffiths Visits Wembley!

We are very lucky to have local inner-west author Andy Griffiths coming to visit Years 1-6 students at Wembley Primary School to celebrate Book Week. Andy has generously donated his time to share with students his latest book to be released ‘The 169 Storey Treehouse’ and his presentation on becoming an author.

We have partnered with the Younger Sun Bookshop to offer Wembley families the opportunity to purchase any of his books, which he will then autograph for students on the 23rd of August (the day of his visit).

If you would like to purchase, the link to do so is attached to the following poster. Please ensure you include the name of our school, your child’s name and age and select ‘local delivery’ as your option for checkout. Orders must be in to the Sun Bookshop in Yarraville by AUGUST 9, to be prepared for Andy's visit.
