Student Leadership 2023

A Message from our School Leadership Team

PUSH UP CHALLENGE  FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Our SRC representatives Fraser and Hugh are holding a fundraiser for the last two weeks of the term. The school will be participating in a modified version of the Push Up Challenge, which is a challenge focused on spreading awareness for mental health for everyone.

During this time we encourage anyone who wishes to participate to please let either Fraser, Hugh or Mrs Rose know and they can give further information on how your push ups will count toward our school total.

To end the two weeks RPS will be holding a free dress day on the last day of term, inviting students to wear whatever colour that 'makes them feel happy' and to bring a gold coin donation. This donation will be going towards the fabulous work that Beyond Blue do for our community!

More information will be shared in the assembly this Friday !

A MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL CAPTAINS

This term we have done so much and yet achieved even more!

We had lots of fun activities such as the Year 5/6 Interschool Sports matches, Cross Country, special incursions, our camp and rehearsals. Currently, Year 3/4s are completing their intensive swimming lessons at Caulfield Grammar. They love the new pool and being close to school.

We are really excited for the term ahead which is packed with just as many fun things and learning as well as the much-anticipated School Production, which only happens every two years!

All year levels will be participating in dances, and singing and the 5/6s will be acting.

Overall we have had an amazing term and can't wait for what Term 3 holds!!

We wish all families and students a safe and happy break!

5/6 INTERSCHOOL SPORT: Round Robin

Last Wednesday the 7th of June, the Year 5/6s had their sports Round Robin day.

There were four sports played: soccer, netball, AFL and T-ball. All students have a choice of what sport they wish to play and most teams have been very competitive on the different sporting fields.

Everyone had a lot of fun and put their best foot (or sporting boot) forward on the day! A huge shout-out and thank you to our Year 6 teachers who double as coaches/ referees and chaperons for the day across the different sports, as well as Ms Badgley who has been a great addition to our community and sporting excellence this term ! Please see the write-ups below from the students!

Footy:

Our footy team played against 3 other schools, unfortunately, we weren’t able to get a win but everyone did enjoy themselves.

Firstly we went up against King David, our team wasn’t able to score a goal but we still had fun and tried. Then we went up against one of the best teams in the competition Elwood PS. We were able to get one goal but unfortunately couldn’t get the win over the game. Finally, we played against Yavneh and put up a good fight at the start with a 1-goal lead then Yavneh played their hardest and won.

Goal Kickers: Mahmoud and Archer

Netball:

Netballers went to Duncan McKinnon. The mixed teams played eight games and the all-girls team played nine games. Our team won 6 games, lost one and tied one!

The best thing about the day was when we got called up to give a speech about what we were thankful for and we came second place!

Tee Ball:

We played 3 matches of 45 minutes, we won 1 which was an achievement. We played against King David, Kilvington and Elsternwick, we won against Elsternwick but unfortunately didn’t get a win against the other 2 teams.
