Bottlebrush Update

Louise Taylor

We are 100 days smarter! On Friday 29th of July Bottlebrush students celebrated their 100th day of school. We celebrated with dressing up as 100-year-olds and participating in activities exploring the number 100. We also had a party at the end of the day with party food and games.

Grandma Zeynab and her drawing of as a 100-year-old.

Grandpa Will and Grandpa Nuwaib completing 100 activities.

This term Bottlebrush have been learning about writing and reading narratives. We have learnt that a narrative has characters, problems and solutions. We are working towards writing our own narrative at the end of the unit.

In Inquiry, we are learning about keeping safe. We have had visits from St John’s Ambulance to learn about First Aid and the Fire Rescue Victoria to learn about what to do if there is a fire.

Ruwayda putting out a fire.

Ahmed and Pablo putting out a fire.

During our second visit from the Firefighters, we were able to use the fire hose and look inside the fire truck to see what equipment they carry.

This term, we are looking forward to a visit from the Surf Life Saving Victoria and our upcoming excursions to Essendon Traffic School and the Arts Centre.

A reminder to all families, home reading is to be completed each night and folders are to be returned to school each day.

Thanks,

Louise, Susan, Oli and Akut
