Year 8 Food Technology
So far this term, our Year 8 students have been enjoying getting to know how to work in the school kitchens. This week they learnt the art of making the perfect “scone” and got to taste a batch made using roasted Wattle seed, an Indigenous flavouring ingredient. It was been wonderful to see their confidence and skills improve in such a short space of time.
Year 10 Food Technology
Our Year 10 students have been busy learning about cross contamination, critical control points, nutrition and special dietary requirements so far this semester. Their food preparation and presentation skills have impressed! This week, students have focused on creating plant-based meals to ensure adequate consumption of vitamins, minerals, iron and protein. Each student made their own pizza base dough using yeast as the raising agent. They then selected from a range of vegetarian toppings as well as herbs from our own school garden.
