In the Maths Classroom

Only one colour, but not one size. Stuck at the bottom, yet I easily fly.

Present in sun, but not in rain. Doing no harm, and feeling no pain.

What Am I?...A shadow!

Year 10 students in their mathematics classes have been investigating what factors change the length of a shadow. They experimented with different objects and moving a light to understand how the shadows changed and used that to build a diagram. They then used these diagrams to come up with a way to estimate a shadows length based on different factors which allowed them to solve more challenging questions.

Well done Year 10’s!
