YEAR 10 WORK EXPERIENCE
Our Year 10 students undertook their Work Experience Placements the last week of Term 2 and into the school holidays.
From all reports, the students were excellent ambassadors of Trinity College and it was extremely pleasing to hear such wonderful feedback from employers, mostly around how well presented and polite our students were and that they were very keen and eager to learn.
Some students have been successful in gaining ongoing employment from these placements. Well done to all students involved.
We wish to thank all employers in our local and wider community who are ‘employing’ one or more of our students. Without their support, opportunities such as these could not be offered to our students. We also wish to thank the parents/guardians of our students for supporting them in their endeavours.
MINDSHOP EXCELLENCE
Five students participated in the Mindshop Excellence Program this year. In conjunction with Mr Andrew Downard, Facilitator of the Mindshop Excellence Program, and AKD, the students were presented with a ‘real life’ problem at AKD. They then spent the week working together with Andrew and AKD staff to analyse the problem and work to find a solution.
The students then presented their recommendations to the business management, staff, school representatives and their parents on the last day of the program.
We are very fortunate to have formed a partnership with AKD, who have for the past 8 years hosted our students.
Our students have been able to refine their skills as well as learn new skills and personal growth. They learn teamwork, presentation skills, discovery process of research, time management, problem solving tools to get them through their senior years at school and beyond, how a business works and gain a greater understanding of working in the REAL world!
The program is designed to challenge their way of thinking, experience the feeling of making a difference, and to have FUN whilst learning new skills.
We wish to thank the Mindshop Excellence Facilitator, Mr Andrew Downard, and Mrs Julie Mason for once again supporting our students with this program. We also wish to thank AKD for their ongoing support of our students.
