Welcome Back to Term 3

Welcome back to Term 3!  Even though our school looks very different to last term, our temporary buildings are set up and we are back to learning on site.  I am in awe of how fast the NSW Department of Education responded and organised our new temporary buildings.  A big thank you to Chris Schaeffer who helped me over the school holidays moving equipment across from the old building in wet and icy conditions (I would not make a good removalist :) ).  I am also extremely proud of all our students for showing resilience in being able to adapt so quickly to our new school environment.

BBQ Breakfast

Thank you to everyone who was able to come and join us for a bacon and egg roll for breakfast last Friday and to have a look  at our temporary buildings. The students thoroughly enjoyed showing you all around our new environment. Thanks also to Craig and Raquel for helping with the BBQ and to the Swilks family for donating eggs!

Please Return Work Sample Folders

At the end of last term, students took home their work sample folders for semester one along with their reports. The work sample folders contained work samples from semester one only. Can I ask all families to return these ASAP (with the current samples in them... please don't take them out) so we can add to them for semester two.  Thanks for your help.

Anne on Leave This Week

Anne Miller is on leave this week as she is attending a workshop in Sydney.  We welcome Natasha and Nora from Uralla Central School who will be assisting me in the office at various times this week.

Term 3 Calendar

Students should have brought home a Term 3 calendar for you last week. If you need another copy, please click the link below:

PSSA Zone Athletics

All the best to our large group of students attending the PSSA Zone Athletics Carnival next Friday.  Congratulations also for qualifying for this event.  Leah Miller will be attending the carnival however, please remember that it is up to parents to transport their children to and from the carnival and to supervise them, as Miss Miller will be placed on jobs throughout the day.  Thanks for your help.

Gymnastics for Term 3

We have secured funding for all students to travel to the Armidale Gymnastics Centre each Wednesday afternoon for 5 weeks of lessons. There is no cost to students. We hope everyone enjoys this wonderful opportunity.

100 Days of School for Kindergarten!

Today, our 2022 Kindergarten students have been at school for 100 days! The year is going so fast!  Students and staff came to school today dressed 100 years old or 100 days smarter.  Have a look at some great photos below!  Thanks to Jess Fortescue for organising a great day for our students!

Education and NAIDOC Week 2022

Our school is celebrating Education Week and NAIDOC Week slightly later this year due to our school being out of action for some of this time due to construction work taking place.  We will hold a combined Education Week and NAIDOC Week in week 4 of this term (Monday 8th - Friday 12th August 2022). We have various events planned for the week, including an activities day on Friday 12th August where we are inviting parents and carers to provide an activity for a small group of children. (Please note all volunteers must have a volunteers working with children check, available free of charge from Services NSW). We will also hold a short assembly on the afternoon of Friday 12th from 2.30pm. Moe information will follow next week.

K-2 Thalgarrah Excursion

Our K-2 students will join with our Thunderbolts Small School Cluster in an excursion to Thalgarrah next Tuesday 2nd August. Please return permission notes and money ASAP.

NECOM Music Lessons

We again welcome back Jess Suann from NECOM to provide our music lessons.  Our lessons occur every Tuesday afternoon.  Here are some images of Lower Division from this week:
