From the Principal

Dear families,

Here are just some of the ways as a school community that we have come together to support students across the site in the first two weeks of Term 3:

NCCD - We all collected, checked and collated disability data across our site. This has required recording information around identified needs, adjustments and consultations for most of our students.

NDIS Service provision - We documented a new process to ensure compliance around new Department protocols for External Providers, implementing criteria and documentation to provide equity and have had eight face to face meeting with families in the first two weeks of this term.

One Sight - We facilitated eyesight screening for R-6 students which resulted in more 20 students qualifying for free glasses and sight prescriptions. This has supported many families to access corrective treatment at no additional cost.

Swimming - We facilitated the organisation of swimming for R-5 across five days.

From the Education Director

Dear Members of the Woodville Gardens School community,

To commence the 2022 school year Ms Sue Charleston was appointed to the acting Principal position for 12 months following the departure of Ms Fiona Voigt.

It is with great pleasure that I can announce, following the completion of the recruitment process, that Ms Charleston has been successful and will be taking up the role for a further 5 years.  As a Local Education Team we continue to be impressed by the work of all educators at Woodville Gardens and believe that under Sue’s expert leadership and with community support we can build on the great work of previous leaders.

As Education Director, I look forward to working with Sue, her leadership team and the staff to ensure the best possible education for all students.

Regards

Paul Newman

Education Director
