Year 12 Formal Fundraiser

Sausage sizzle excitement

Find yourself a suit and shoes, and get excited: Formal is happening!

On Wednesday, the formal committee pulled together to run a sausage sizzle to raise funds for the upcoming senior formal on  26 August at San Remo Ballroom!

As school captains we had a lot to co-ordinate with teachers, equipment, and who would have thought that buying white bread could be such a complicated process? We learnt a lot about working with outside suppliers, and came to appreciate the huge amount of effort that goes into running such a fund raiser.

A big thanks to those who gave up their time to work the grill or set up. And an even bigger thanks to everyone who waited patiently for a snag.

If anyone wants to run a sizzle themselves, I recommend getting in touch with the food Studies team, they’ve seen it all. They also have a few litres of unused BBQ sauce because apparently no one likes it…

The event was a success, and more than 230 year 12s have paid their first deposit, meaning that formal is going ahead! Keep your eyes peeled for the last deposit on compass.
