Year F/1

We have had a lovely week in the F/1 class but we have had quite a few of our students away through illness each day. Hopefully, all our F/1 Superstars will be healthy soon and back every day.  On Monday, we had a very small group and our students had an opportunity to practise their addition and counting skills on Mathletics.  Jaxon and Rocco loved Mathletics!

We are continuing our focus on fairy tales in English. We have looked at the structure and how they story is divided into parts. 'The Three Little Pigs' story has proved to be great fun with the students enjoying the familiar lines,  'I'll huff and I'll puff and blow your house down'. On Thursday, we painted our scenery background in readiness to make our houses for the pigs next week.

In Maths, we have been focusing on addition and subtraction using groups of objects. The Year Ones have practised more formal sums and story problems as well.  Dominoes are a great way to practise number facts. In class, we can double the numbers, we can add the numbers together to make a total, we can order the numbers from smallest to largest and of course play dominoes!
