CBCA Book Week & Book Parade

Thank you for your wonderful support for our book parade.  The students and staff looked absolutely incredible in their outfits.  Thank you to all the adults who helped organise the costumes.  It was also so wonderful to have so many families join us to watch the parade and stay for morning tea.  I think everyone had a lovely time.

The book fair will continue to be held in the library until Friday.  It will  be open during the day, with times listed below.  Please enter and leave via the front office in Rusden Street.

Thursday 9 am - 12.30 pm

Friday 9 am - 1 pm

Books are available to be ordered online via the Readers Companion website.  To purchase online click this link. There will be a category in the online shop called St Mary’s Armidale Book Fair

  • This category will include all of the books that are on display in the library (which makes it easy for  students to point out books online at home).
  • You can buy the books in this online category using electronic payment methods.
  • Please still order the books from this category online even when it shows 'Availability zero’ because we will get the book for you.

If you buy online

  • Books that are ordered online cannot be taken from the display at school.
  • Online orders must include the School, the student’s name and class in the notes section.
  • When a book is ordered online - we will email you to let you know when the book will be available to collect at school.
  • The purchase will be included in the school’s total for credit at the end of the book fair.

What day is your child's library day?

A reminder about Library days for your child:

PLEASE BRING YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS ON-

MONDAY - Years 2 & 6

WEDNESDAY - Year 3

THURSDAY - Yr 4

FRIDAY - Kinder, Year 1 & Year 5

Extra borrowing time is also available -

Tuesday & Friday  2nd break  Yrs 2,3,4

Monday & Wednesday 1st break  K,1,5,6

Remember to bring your library bags so that books can be taken home.

Kindergarten -  May borrow 1-2 books

Yrs 1-6 - May borrow 1-4 books, 1 book stays under their desk to read in class and 3 can go home.

Library Bags

It is important that students bring a library bag if they wish to borrow books to take home. Recently books have been returned wet, damaged and, in a couple of instances mouldy. The library bag helps protect the books in school bags as they are being transported.  A shopping bag from the supermarket works perfectly.  I try and keep a supply of shopping bags in the library, however even my pile has been depleted. All students are able to borrow a book to keep in their tub at school, however to take books home a library bag is essential.  Thank you for your understanding.

Premier's Reading Challenge

Premiers Reading Challenges has now finished.  All students who had completed their reading logs have been validated.  Certificates will be sent to the school from the challenge organisers when they have been printed.  These may not arrive until Term 4 as this is a state wide challenge. Thank you to everyone who participated and the families who supported them with this challenge.
