PARENT HELPER INFORMATION SESSION

We have had many parents express interest in helping out in the classrooms and getting involved with the learning that is taking place. We will be holding a Parent Helper Information Session this Thursday, the 18th of August, at 8:45am. 

The purpose of this session is to inform our parent volunteers of the types of things teachers would like support with and answer any questions parents/guardians may have before they enter the classrooms. During this session, we will also outline some key days/times we would appreciate parent helpers for each area of the school. 

The session will be held in the Admin building and all attendees will need to sign in at the office. Please register to attend via the link below and send us any questions you would like answered on the day.

FATHER DAY AFTERNOON

On Friday the 2nd of September, we will have our Father's Day Amazing Race. The event will run from 2pm to 3pm. Each Learning Community will have some activities for students to complete with their Dad or special person. The emphasis of this event is on spending quality time with your children rather than purchasing gifts. 

At the end of the event, we will come together in the gym to celebrate all the wonderful Dads and special people, as well as hold a raffle.  

STUDENT FREE DAY

On Monday, the 22nd of August, all Orchard Park Primary School staff will be involved in their termly Professional Practice Day. Professional Practice Days (PPDs) are a day where teachers are released from their teaching duties to further develop and strengthen their teaching knowledge and practice. Usually, these days are spread across the term and teachers are covered by relief teachers to be released. Given the current challenges schools are facing around sourcing relief teachers, the Department of Education has approved schools taking their PPD collectively as a whole school, making it a student-free day. As such, no students will be required at school on this day. 

Full day care arrangements will be available through TheirCare for families who require this service.

REMINDER - 2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Invitations to complete this survey have been sent out to all families via Compass. The 2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open for parents, caregivers, and guardians to complete between Monday 15 August and Friday 16 September. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
