Dear Parents,  

There appears to be some confusion about the Church driveway.  In the morning, have your child ready with their school bag next to them so when you arrive near the school gate, your child can simply get out and walk up the alley way.  That way, children are walking safely to their classrooms.

In the afternoon, if you are at the beginning of the circular driveway and your child has not yet come out of school, rather than hold everyone up, please go around and rejoin the end of the line.  This would allow other cars to move along.  Please do not get out of your car and walk into the school yard, as this prevents everyone that is lined up behind you from being able to move along.  I appreciate your attention in this matter.

This week you may have noticed that the Aboriginal Flag has been flying at half mast. Holy Name would like to pay our respect and acknowledge the wonderful contribution that he made to our society.

Closure Day

Just reminding you all that on Monday August 29th, we have the second of our closure days.  Once again, Camp Australia will be running a whole day session.  Please ensure that you book in for this if needed.

School Advisory Committee

On Tuesday 23rd August, we have a School Advisory Committee Meeting. This group is made up of parents who are interested in acting in an advisory capacity to help with various aspects of school life.  This group meets approximately once a term at the school. If you are interested in joining this group, could you please send in the following nomination form.

ASSEMBLY

We now have assembly back on in the Hall every Monday at 2:30pm.  We welcome all parents. 

Father's Day Raffle and Stall

This year we will be holding a Father's Day Raffle.  Tickets will go out later in the month of August.  There are some great prizes to won. 

Along with the Raffle we will be holding a Father's Day Stall on Wednesday 31st August, just as we do for Mother's Day.  Children will be able to bring money to school to purchase a gift for that special male in their lives. 

To celebrate the wonderful roles that Fathers play in their child's life, we will be having a sausage sizzle from 3:45 to 5 pm on Thursday 1st September for Dads and their children, keep the date free........

Canteen Helpers Needed

We are seeking more volunteers for our Canteen roster.  If you can help on either Tuesday or Friday between the hours of 9.00 to 11.15am, and you have a current Working with Children check, please email Donna Pinto, Canteen Manager  (dpinto@hnpe.catholic.edu.au) with your availability.  You don't need any experience, but you can't bring your pre-schoolers with you, due to OH&S.
