Message from the Principal Team

Principals' Update

Week 9 has proven to be a wonderful but warm week. With this increase in sunshine and temperature we would ask all parents to ensure the children are wearing sunscreen to school, and have some in their bag. Teachers are reminding the children to wear their hats and to keep drinking water during the day. We are proud to be a sun smart school.

Foundation to Year 4 have certainly enjoyed the refreshing dips in the pool and have clearly improved their swimming skills. Their last day of swimming will be tomorrow. We would like to thank Sam for organising swimming this year, and all the teachers and parents for your support in ensuring it ran so smoothly.

Year 5/6 ventured off on their Life Saving Beach Day today, eager to have their day in the water too. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get into the water due to the storm yesterday but they still learnt so many Life Saving skills.

Pizza and Movie Night

There has been a great sense of excitement among the Year 1/2 children as they look forward to their pizza and movie night. I am sure they will have a wonderful time and enjoy their visit to the local pizzeria. Many thanks to the Year 1/2 teachers who organised this.

Trash and Treasure

We have had an amazing response to our SRC’s “Trash and Treasure” fundraiser. The children had a chance today to purchase items. They will have another chance on Friday, and parents can purchase items after the assembly on Friday too. Many thanks to Jesse, Billy and the SRC students who organised this fundraiser.

Curriculum Day

Please note that the children will have no school on Monday 6th December as the teachers are having a Curriculum day.

Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

Our year 6 children will attend the Yr6-Yr7 Transition on Tuesday 7th December. It will be a wonderful first step into High School for them. We hope they have an excellent day.

Whole School Transition

We have worked very hard over the last number of weeks arranging the classes for the coming school year in consultation with the teachers and their classes. The children have an opportunity to meet their new classes and teachers for an hour on Tuesday 7th and Monday 13th December.

Year 3/4 Camp

Year 3/4 are looking forward to their Camp on Wednesday 8th – Friday 10th December. They are very excited about it and we hope that they have a wonderful time.

Year 5/6 Big Day Out

Year 5/6 are really enjoying the end of term and will be going on two excursions to celebrate their Big Day Out. They will be going to the IMAX theatre on Thursday 9th December and to Inflatable World in Melton on Friday 10th December. We hope they will enjoy these end of year celebrations. In order for these activities to take place, we need some parental helpers who have their Working with Children Check and proof of vaccination. Please contact your child’s teacher if you can help on either of these days.

Thanking you all for your continued support,

Eoghan O’Muirgheasa, Erin Brown & Jane Bilby
