SAPSASA Cricket Report - Quarter Final

Scotch College vs Magill School

Monday 8th November, 2021 Week 5

To start off the day, we won the toss and chose to bowl, which was our favoured situation out of the two. The two opening batsmen from Scotch were on point with their skills taking optional risks that played out well for them. We were able to field really well with Jayson P bowling amazingly along with Ghazi K and Thomas V. They definitely had some very talented players that seemed to middle the ball every time. Unfortunately we let a few singles away that we shouldn't have, but all in all a very good effort by all players on field. Scotch College were able to post a very good total of 126 runs from their 20 overs. Then to batting where Xavier S and Hudson H were our opening batters. Their opening bowlers were also top notch, so getting through them was going to be a challenge. From the start it was always going to be a battle as we only managed to score a total of 23 runs. Our best performers with the bat were Thomas V with 8 runs, and Joel B with 7 runs. Unfortunately it wasn’t our day, but we all knew that we had already achieved something massive, beating both Rostrevor College and East Marden to progress to the Quarter Finals.

Thanks to all the parents and helpers for getting us to each game and training because without them we wouldn't have been able to achieve what we have. Thanks to all the boys for your efforts throughout the year to come up with some great results.
