Junior School Report

What an amazing end to a very strange year!!

Our Junior School Headstart program has been a great success with our 2022 Year 8 and Year 9 students very organised and committed to their 2022 classes. Our students have had an opportunity to meet their new teachers, class mates and start work in their new subjects and learning areas.

Next year will see the split of ‘Investigate’ into separate subjects of English and Humanities and we look forward to the improved learning outcomes this change will bring for our students.

We have also had a very dynamic last few weeks of term with a number of activities aimed at supporting our grade 6 students who are transitioning to secondary college.

We conduct a range of transition programs;

  • Thrive which supports vulnerable students needing a bit of extra support
  • TAP also a transition assistance program for students who are joining us without any primary school peers
  • Orientation day, held on Tuesday 9th December, where all our new Year 7 students for 2022 experienced an informative and positive first day with our college.

Both campuses held a Presentation and award ceremony celebrating the 2021 achievements of our students and we also welcomed and presented our 2022 Year level captains and Junior school House captains.

We wish to thank the 2021 Junior School Assistant Principals; Nat Fode and Lynda Portelli for all their support of the junior school students, families and teachers in what was another challenging year for learning and wellbeing.

We wish everyone a safe and happy summer holiday period and we look forward to leading Junior School in 2022.
