Looking out for Others

During the last nine months the need for support from the ASRC Foodbank has more than doubled. Donations to the Foodbank will help to put food on the table for 1500 women, men and children seeking asylum, who have no safety net and no other means of support in Australia. Flynn (Year 4) and his mum Chelsea  would like BBPS families to consider donating just one item from their pantry and bringing it to BBPS by the last day of school.

We will then collect all the groceries and take them to the ASRC building in Footscray on Sunday 20th December.

The below items are the most needed. No toys, clothing or household items are required.

Most needed food items:

            • Tuna in oil 400g

            • Tinned tomatoes 400g

            • Coconut cream

            • Honey

            • Full cream UHT milk 1 litre

            • Black tea bags

            • Instant coffee

            • Sweet or savoury biscuits

            • Basmati rice

            • Tinned vegetables – peas, carrots, corn

            • Tinned legumes – chickpeas, black beans, white beans, lentils

            • Dried legumes – chickpeas, split red lentils, yellow split peas

            • Spices – cumin, turmeric, chilli

            • Laundry powder 1kg packs

So BBPS families please fire up and support Flynn and Chelsea in their efforts for this most worthy cause. Donations can be left in the STEM room opposite the office. Please sign in with Benita first.
