Home and School Organisation

We are organised, competent, capable and confident.

Morning Routine

It has been fantastic to see the children  taking responsibility for their own belongings and being organised and ready to start the school day. Thank you for your support with encouraging this independence.

The morning routine involves students:

1. Bringing in own school bag, finding their locker and unpacking their bag

2. Putting water bottles away in the holders.

3. Returning any lunch orders or office notes into the basket or to the teacher.

5. Signing in for the day.

6. Choosing a Discovery Time activity.

And later...

7. Placing library books or reading books into the returns box/basket (if applicable).

Bell Times

Reminder

Yard Duty commences daily at 8:30am.

Students should not be in the yard without parent supervision before this time and the Junior Primary playground is out of bounds. This morning time should not be considered as a "play time", but instead an opportunity to catch up with their peers and getting prepared and organised for the upcoming busy day. A calm entry into the classroom where their engine is running just right will support a successful start to the day.

Lunch Boxes

We are working hard at managing our own belongings like hat, lunch boxes, drink bottles, packing our bags and keeping our things in our locker. This ensures our learning environment is a safe place to move around and we know where our things are. To support your child with this please ensure all of their belongings are clearly labelled. In addition to this can you please check that your child can manage their lunch box and containers. For example unscrewing, unzipping or undoing and doing up containers. This will assist your child in being able to independently manage their things. Please consider the practicality of your child's things. Sometimes a couple of small containers that your child can grab and go can ease these busy times.

Your child will need:

  • A snack for healthy snack break, usually at around 10am. We encourage a piece of fruit or vegetables. Something the size of your child's palm.
  • Something for recess.
  • Something for lunch.

Lunch orders - Monday and Friday is Villis and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is Subway.

Tirkandi (Library ) Days

Tirkandi is currently set up as classrooms due to the upcoming redevelopment of the Mellor building. Your child will still have opportunity to borrow books for home. It will just look a little bit different.
