VCE Media

On Thursday 26th November, VCE  Media students were given the firsthand opportunity to film and edit a major production. The budding filmmakers took on the role of filming the St. Mary’s PS annual school production. Owing to COVID restrictions on audiences and large gatherings, this made the role of recording the event a very responsible one.

Students shared the job of filming, assisting with audio, as well as clapping the clapperboard when it was time start recording and ‘cut’ between scenes. This opportunity gave the students valuable insight into how media works are filmed, as well as skills to assist them in their own major Media projects next year in Yr 12. Many of the students also enjoyed the opportunity to see younger siblings in the play, as well as revisiting their former primary school.

Thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s and our own Media Teacher, Mr Scott, for facilitating such a valuable experience for our students
