Fitwell Excursion -

Murray Life Adventures

After returning to onsite learning in Term Four, we were fortunate to take a group of students in our Fitwell Program out to Murray Life Adventures, Torrumbarry. This was a major highlight for our students to connect as a group and experience some normality given the current circumstances.

The Fitwell program aims to build self confidence, promote resilience, develop our values and communication skills. Students were involved in three full day sessions at MLA over a three week period. Activities included rock climbing, canoeing, bush surfing, giant swing, flying fox, swimming, team building activities and low ropes course.

Students participated in a combination of activities each week led by MLA staff. At the conclusion of each activity students were involved in evaluation and discussion. This involved communicating what worked well within the group, what didn’t work so well within the group and what the group could have done differently. This gave students’ the opportunity to build self confidence and the chance to have a voice within the group. MLA staff encouraged and supported discussions around the principles of teamwork, law of attraction and conditioned responses.

We would like to thank CCLEN and Murray Life Adventures for this valuable opportunity. Our students found this program rewarding and we look forward to further development in 2021.
