JUNIORS

Summer 7s

During November and December we managed to organise a 5 week  Summer 7s competition with four other clubs; PH/STK, Bayside, SUHC and Mentone. It was a fun, 7-a-side half pitch competition which the kids loved. We had 6 teams entered from U12 - U16 and each age group played at a different venue with HMHC hosting the U14 comp. on a Tuesday evening.

TEM Academy

During November we also ran a very successful TEM Academy which hosted 90 players from U12-U18 from TEM as well as other clubs. We had a fantastic group of coaches including elite players who have played at State and National level. The feedback was fantastic with all the kids learning a lot and improving their hockey.

Thank you to Hugh McLaughlin for organising the coaching side of things for the Academy, you were a fantastic help.

2021 Summer Programs

We have a bumper year planned for 2021 starting with another TEM Academy in February as well as some other development sessions for all age groups and levels. We are also running some junior to senior transition trainings for those kids heading into seniors next year where they can come to senior training and have a mentor for the night with the aim of making them feel comfortable about attending senior training sessions.

Click on the attached flyer for the details and here is the registration link:

We will also again be running hockey roadshows in local schools during February as a way of recruiting juniors and have booked in with nine local primary schools which is fantastic, so it will be a busy start to the year!

I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe break and we look forward to making up for what we missed this year, in 2021.
