Year 11 Chemistry

Due to the unpredictable disruptions our community has faced this year, it has not been particularly easy for students to complete science experiments in the laboratory. Luckily, Year 11 Chemistry students were able to practise their analytical chemistry techniques, just before Home Learning was reinstated.

The method students used to conduct the acid-base analysis uses a combination of highly precise and technical strategies, in conjunction with molar ratio equations and calculations. I am so proud of the students’ efforts and how well they have adapted under such challenging circumstances. Please enjoy the following photos which display the talented Year 11 Chemistry students undergoing a volumetric analysis, ‘Titration’, of acids and bases in the laboratory.
