Year 10 Students

Careers interviews with Year 10 students are mostly complete. It has been fascinating to hear the plans for the future being made by our Year 10 students. We have very much appreciated the time, care and thought they have put into the preparation for their Careers interview and the research into their immediate future in Year 11. Careers staff are very much looking forward to watching the progress of these students through Brookhill and hearing about the decisions they make in Year 12 for life beyond Aitken. Thank you to the Life Skills teachers, Heads of House and Head of Senior School for all their hard work with the students and their assistance during this interview period.

Year 12 Students

We were thrilled by the attendance at our Year 12 VTAC Information evening that was held Monday 3 August.  Thank you to all the students who attended and their parents. It was great to have Mrs Crisara and Mr Murphy in attendance and we are particularly grateful to Mr Murphy for his assistance with technological issues.

One-on-one interviews with Year 12 students will commence next week, beginning on Monday 10 August. For students planning to submit a VTAC application, applications have just opened and in order to be a timely applicant, applications need to be submitted by Wednesday 30 September. We would hope all potential VTAC applicants would have submitted their “first draft” by the end of this term. Careers staff will assist students with this process. The cost of an application is $41 which covers inputting the initial application, an unlimited number of change of preferences and receiving a printed ATAR statement.  Applications can be paid for at the time, or payment can be deferred until later.  Payment can be made with a credit or debit card or via Paypal.  The important thing is to put in at least one preference prior to 30 September so you are in the system as a timely applicant.

As we have now gone into Stage 4 Lockdown, Year 12 interviews will be held via Zoom.  Interview times will be distributed shortly.

The chart below depicts the revised timeline for the VTAC process in relation to application deadines, results, change of preference and offers.
