Secondary News

Term 3 has been a busy term. The Secondary School has had two Pre-Service Teachers, one from Flinders University and one from Adelaide University. I have been impressed by their professionalism and their attention to detail.

The school has been blessed by the Bormann family who lent us some discs to cultivate the soil in our Agriculture plot over the road. It has transformed the area, allowing the students to expand their planting area and to put in some extra vegetables.

Last week as part of Chapel we had the opportunity to hear Emily Colebatch share her heart about her search for true contentment.

Her message was based around what she had done to find contentment, including deleting all her social media accounts and trying not to focus on what other people have, but rather on what we already have and thank God for what we have, what we are capable of and the blessings we already have that many people go without. My prayer is that the students take this message and apply it to their own lives.

We look forward to hearing the remaining Captains present over the remainder of the term.

God bless,

Nicholas Simons

Confidence is believing in yourself…

GOD-FIDENCE is trusting one greater than yourself!

One50 Dance presented fun, high energy, informative Dance Workshops this week during Mrs. O’Rourke’s Secondary Music and Drama Classes.

One50 Dance is all about creating a positive space for young people to be inspired, build friendships and learn and perform incredible dance moves. With One50 Dance you can expect positive music with respectful lyrics and dance movements which compliment what students are learning at school such as rhythm, timing, expression, loving you, using your body and space well, team work, positive self-image and most importantly developing what Mrs. O’Rourke teaches, which is God-confidence, even greater than ‘self’ confidence.

One50 Dance programs complement our Drama, Music and Performing arts, Health and PE curriculum as well as the Rite Journey and Pastoral Care. The workshops helped prepare students for their upcoming SACE assessments, assembly performances and the Tyndale Showcase by developing confidence and stage presence and learning to use body language and presence to move and connect with the audience. I am so thankful to One50 Dance for choreographing an item for our Yr8’s and to our leadership team for always supporting our outstanding Performing Arts program at Tyndale Christian School (which, as I say, is the best school, in the best city, in the best state, in the best country in the whole world!) 😊
