Parents Association

Assembly on Webex
Did you join the assembly on Monday? It was fun to attend the final assembly in Term 2 online. Thanks to our Teachers, School Team and School Captains for arranging this memorable online assembly as I know that some parents also invited their relatives and friends from overseas to join this online assembly, bringing all of us together. I can see there will be more possible online accessible school events in the future.
Thank You for contributing to the Defibrillator
As you may already know from our previous Rocket Newsletter Issue 15 that the Parent's Association funded the purchase of a Defibrillator for the school. The Defibrillator has been mounted in the hall for easy access by school staff and hall hirers. Thanks to all parents who contributed in our PA Membership Fee, individual donations, Secondhand Uniform Shop, PA events or other donation channels, we are all part of this - THANK YOU.
PA Meetup and Events Update
We had a PA Meetup last Friday with 6 PA Committee Members joining due to the social distancing rules. In the meetup we shared and discussed our updated event calendar for the rest of this year including Spoil the Staff Morning Tea in July, Footy Day in Term 3, and hopefully the School Disco will still happen in December this year (fingers crossed). Some major events including International Food Night, Mother's Day and Father's Day will be repackaged in a brand new and fun way in 2021, so stay tuned!
Be part of you kid's learning journey
You are always welcome to join our meetups to understand more about events in our school. In fact, you don't have to join any meetup to be part of the volunteer groups. If you have time and are happy to volunteer, PA is a fantastic platform for you to share your ideas or contribute your time and skills. For example we shared an idea on a project for The Beauty of Life in Lockdown photobook, and JaiPrakash Arthanari presented a Student Coding Class idea for Syndal South as an after school activity (thanks JP!). These are great ideas initiated by parents and could eventually be an important part of our children's learning journey.
If you are interested in part of these (or any of our) events or projects or if you are interested in or have an IT background or if you know where to source good local photobook suppliers, please contact me on pa@syndalsp.vic.edu.au to support us.
Our next PA Meetup will be on 28 July (Tuesday) at 6:30pm. We will keep you updated about the meetup arrangements.
Have a wonderful school holiday. Stay safe :)
