Principal's Report

Term 2 Week 6

School is Back !!!!

We are slowly moving forward towards some sort of normality. At least with school returning this will help with life feeling a little more normal!!

All students - Prep to Year 6 at Moyhu Primary School will be returning back on Tuesday the 26th May 2020 as Monday is a Pupil Free Day (Staff will be at school planning)

(Buses running as per normal)

We are very aware that during the past few months, life has been different for all of us and that some children will be affected differently. The staff will be conducting a slightly different learning program for the first week or so to support all our children with their return to school.

I would like to thank all parents and carers for your cooperation, support and work during remote learning due to the COVID 19 shutdown. We have a number of fantastic photos of children learning from home over the past 6 weeks. There is also a few more in the School and Community News section of this newsletter which was posted on facebook recently.

As per the Moyhu Primary School COVID -19 return to school policy, a number of changes to our general practices need to be followed;

  • All unwell children and staff must stay home.
  • All students will need to bring a water bottle (drink taps are out of bounds)
  • Visitors to school grounds will be limited to those delivering or supporting essential school services and operations.
  • All adults will need to social isolate from each other ( at least 1.5 metres)
  • Washing hands and using hand sanitiser is essential for everyone especially.
  • At the moment all excursions, camps and non-essential large gatherings have been postponed.
  • All interschool activities that involve onsite attendance by students from other schools will be taken virtually or postponed.

Please find a copy of the policy on our website or via this link

Hopefully by following these restrictions we can all stay safe and healthy during this time. The above 2 posters are displayed around the school as friendly reminders of what we all need to do.

Should you have any questions in regards to your child returning to school next week, please give me a call to discuss.

In the meantime, start setting routines again, prepare school bags and uniform. Discuss with your children how they are feeling about returning to school and remind them what will be great about returning such as seeing their friends and doing the activities that they enjoy at school. Here is a link to some further information if you haven't seen it already, on how to talk to your child in regards to coronavirus as well as a tipsheet on returning to school.

Enjoy the coming weekend with your families and we all look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday.

For School Councillors, there will be a School Council Meeting on Monday evening via Webex at 5:30pm, further details will be sent via email soon.
