Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premiers’ Reading Challenge encourages children from the age of 0 to year 10 to read and record online a set number of books.  All sign in codes should have already been given to you by your classroom teacher. Students in Prep and Year 1 can either read books by themselves or with someone else.  Make sure you have actually read all the books that you put down. Prep to Year 2 must read at least 30 books and 20 of them must be from the challenge list. Students from Year 3 to Year 9 must read at least 15 books and 10 of them must be from the challenge list. The book list contains thousands of books and recommends books for your age group. There are 522 schools across Victoria taking part in this challenge and we would love you to sign up and give it a go.

Happy reading,

Shared Anthology

The Shared Story Anthology is a combination of stories, poems, art or any other form of writing created by students from Catholic schools across Victoria. These include both primary and secondary schools. If a student's work is selected and makes it into the book, their work will be published and a copy of the book will go into the National Library of Australia and you will also get a copy to keep for yourselves.

The theme for the book this year is ‘Respect’ so any art, poems or short stories around this theme will be perfect. All entries must be in by 17th July 2020. For example, pieces could be about COVID-19, family, respecting the environment, the arts, bushfires or respect for people into your writing and art, but we would love to see other original and creative ideas.  Please email your entries to mdrozario@sfbrightoneast.catholic.edu.au

We can’t wait to see your pieces.
