Bee-Bot Fun in P-2

Last week the Year 1/2 students started their Introductory to Bee-Bots sessions. The students had a great time figuring out what the Bee-Bots do and how they can be programmed.

After an initial play session, the students in Miss Marakis' class learnt about the specific functions of the Bee-Bot and how they can be sequenced to enable the Bee-Bot to perform a series of movements. We linked this to the concept of an ALGORITHM. A BIG word for the Year 1/2's but a great introduction into the world of coding. The students will get to spend more time with the Bee-Bots as part of their Digital Technologies mini-unit next term.

Cyber Safety Day

On Monday, the students participated in a Cyber Safety Session where they learnt how to participate safely on social media and online gaming platforms.

The day was great in developing the students' knowledge and understanding of what it means to be safe online.

Cyber Safety Parent Night

Thank you to the 50 parents who attended the Cyber Safety Project's Parent Information Night on Monday. The night was a huge success and the presenters were so impressed with the number of parents who came along, thus identifying the importance of building their own knowledge of social media and online gaming platforms to enable their children to be safe  and responsible online.
