Update from the Year 3/4 Community

Students have been exploring the idea of 'cool, weak and aggro' responses to situations inside and outside the classroom.

They were able to identify the difference between the three reactions and understand how to solve a problem in a socially positive way while still reaching a desired outcome.

Students enjoyed using role plays to explore different reactions and discuss how their actions impacted one another.

eXcel - Guiding Student Wellbeing in Catholic School Communities

eXcel: Wellbeing for learning in Catholic school communities  is a guide that explores in detail the nature and importance of wellbeing and how it is enacted in Catholic schools.

It articulates the importance of wellbeing to children and young people’s spiritual, cognitive, physical, emotional and social growth.

eXcel is an explicit and practical guide to inform pedagogical practice, curriculum design and policies to strengthen children and young people’s wellbeing and learning outcomes in Catholic schools. It is not a program.

Presented as four intersecting dimensions of enable, connect, engage and learn, the first letter of each word has been combined to form the overarching concept of ‘eXcel’.

The eXcel framework is not an initiative or program, but a great guide to reinforce the work we are already doing around Student Wellbeing at Corpus Christi. If you would like a copy of the document, please don't hesitate to ask.
