As a PBL (Positive Behaviour Learning) school Lake Illawarra High School rewards students who are respectful, responsible and safe in every setting. PBL promotes positive behaviour in learning.

Students of Lake Illawarra High School throughout 2018 have displayed many examples of their achievements in a variety of ways through exhibitions and performances both inside and outside the school. These successes are again a reflection of how 21st century learners are influenced by technology and resilience development.
How does the PBL reward system work?
Vivo
is a point based system where students are rewarded on a FAST and FREQUENT basis for positive behaviours.
- HOW DO I EARN VIVO POINTS?
For following the school values
- Representing the school (debating, Science Fair, Tournament of Minds, Peer support, SRC, Southern Stars etc.)
- Representing the school in Sport
- Top 5 in any test, assignment, assessment task. Consistent personal best
- Exceptional achievement: Monitoring with 6+ above averages, Attendance 100% in a term, End of year Presentation Awards, Principal Awards, ROSE Award, Year Adviser Awards, 1st or 2nd place in subject, Scholarships, State representatives, Australian representative
School Medal
To obtain a Lake Illawarra High School Medal 6 250 Vivo points are required along with an application submitted to the Principal, Deputy Principal and Year Adviser of their year group. Students are required to meet the criteria below:
- Wearing excellent uniform
- Epitomising the school values
- Having excellent attendance above 90%
- Having participated in leadership or school service
Students will submit their resume and portfolio as part of their application. Portfolio consists of awards in and outside of school.

Vivo Reward
Bonus Vivo points have been awarded to:

These students have shone as reliable, talented and great citizens of Lake Illawarra High School when they stepped up to support our Presentation Night by either transforming the hall, performing, presenting the acknowledgement to country or being master of ceremonies. Each individual worked above and beyond to help make the night a success.
Special mention is given to Year 12 Construction Class: Lachlan Boyan, Drever Burdis, Jarrod Dyer, Shae Foster, Jackson Haddon, Bill Moon, Jack Pearson, Jye Shearer, Carl Stone and Colbey Winsor for their efforts in maintaining our physical school environment.
Our values can be shown in many ways within the school community.

PBL Rewards Afternoon
Week 9 saw fifty students rewarded with a free movie voucher and refreshments for being safe, responsible and respectful learners this semester.

Second Semester Rewards Day
On Wednesday of Week 9, selected students were invited to attend Jamberoo Recreation Park as a rewards excursion for exemplary conduct throughout 2018. Congratulations goes out to all those invited for consistently demonstrating Lake Illawarra High’s core values of Respect, Responsibility and Safety.

PBL 100% Attendance Draws.
Each fortnight one student's name is randomly drawn out from all who have had 100% attendance to class and school. $10 vouchers are provided from our local businesses. Thank you to Cafe Els Warilla, Pinocchio Pizzas, Domino's Shellharbour, LIHS Canteen and McDonalds Warilla.

Student Representative Council Reward
In recognition of the important role that the SRC plays here in our school by providing a forum for the students’ needs and ideas to be heard along with representing LIHS at functions inside and outside of school twenty members have been invited to attend a fun day at Wet’n’Wild Sydney on Monday 17th December. The SRC members are: Tallis Gilmour, Kirra Hughes, Shae Mann, Ella Riley, Jacinta Bazzano, Chantelle Borg, Lachlan Moosemann, Logan O’Sullivan, Cilla Wilson, Kasey Yates, Tahni Anger, Claudia Balatti, Caleta Bazzano, Marina-Lee Bellef, Jennifer Grujevski, Rhiana McDonald, Lucy Coyle, Jarrod Dyer, Brittany Skeen and Ebru Turkmen.

Focus this week
Week 10: We are safe on holidays using sunscreen and being aware of our surroundings.
Students will be extra alert during the holiday season. Be sun smart by using sunscreen, slapping on a hat, sliding on sunglasses and seeking shade. Respect the water. Travel and party safely. Happy New Year to all.
