TUFF - Blokes of BCS

There has been a great buzz in the air surrounding the beginning of the TUFF mentoring project. The great male staff have been finding time to get to know the young gentlemen of BCS.  Already it has shown great and sometimes unexpected benefits and experiences.

It has been positive to talk to the staff involved about their experiences they have had chatting to the boys and how they have found the initial experience. We are gaining insights into what makes the boys tick and their personal interests.  I know for me personally the boys are getting an insight to me as a bloke as opposed to being a teacher.

It has also been wonderful to see the boys seek out their mentor when they are having issues. This skill of talking to someone when things are not going well is one of the major outcomes we are trying to instill in the boys. It is still early days but if the project continues how it has started we are going to build great relationships with the boys.​
