SRC

Secondary

In our Student Representative Council (SRC) meetings over the last fortnight, we have discussed plans for the upcoming secondary social. It was decided that:

  • The social will occur on Wednesday of week 9.
  • Entry will be a $2 coin. Tickets will be sold at school over the next two weeks. Limited tickets will be available at the door.
  • Students who do not attend school on the day of the social will not be able to attend. Students who are currently on the no-go list will also not be able to attend.
  • Food and drinks will be available to purchase at the social.

SRC members also conducted a survey of high school students to vote on a theme for the social. The winning theme was pyjama party!

In other news, we have made it a priority to keep our school a clean environment that we can be proud of. Each week, the SRC chooses a year group who has kept their area the tidiest. The cleanest area in Week 6 was awarded to Year 11 and to Year 7 in Week 7.

Kindergarten to Year 6

The K-6 SRC helps out in many ways at school.  During terms one and two they were responsible for attending SRC meetings and bringing ideas from their classmates to discuss at these meetings. Year 5/6 put in a request for a compost bin for the school and this was approved, and it will be funded by K-6 SRC. The students are also responsible for taking information back to their classes from our meetings. They spoke to their classes about Harmony Day and the aim of this important day as well as the Shave for a Cure initiative and assisted with the setting up and running of this fundraising event. At Easter time SRC ran their own colouring in competition and judged it themselves.  In term 3 we choose new representatives from each class and we look forward to them assisting the school with important events and special days. Thank you to our hard working and enthusiastic representatives from this semester.
