IMSS Musical Soiree
The IMSS Musical Soiree will now be held in Week 8 on Tuesday 3rd December starting at 6pm. Please note, this date has been changed again due to a clash with the Year 7 parent information night scheduled on the 9th and due to the number of families who will be away on holidays in Week 10 (the second date change). My apologies for the confusion and any inconvenience this may have caused. I feel it’s really important that we settle on a date that can work for everyone. This performance is expected to run for one hour followed by a little party where parents can "meet and greet" their children's IMSS teachers. This event is expected to be finished by around 7:30pm. All students learning an instrument through the IMSS program are expected to attend and play a musical item in their IMSS year group (for example, Year 5 flutes will play an item altogether) and bring a plate of food to share for the party.
Burrendah Primary School Music Concert
The Annual Burrendah PS Music Concert will also be held in Week 8 on Wednesday 4th December starting at 6pm as originally planned. This concert is expected to run for approximately one and a half hours (estimated to be finishing by around 7:30pm) and includes the following groups: String Orchestra, Chamber Strings, Wind Band, Recorder Ensemble, Senior Choir and Junior Choir.
A note will be going home shortly with more details outlining dress, arrival times etc.
The children have been working very hard all year preparing musical items for these events and we welcome all family and friends in our school community to come along and celebrate their achievements. The groups are all sounding amazing!
IMSS (Instrumental Music School Services) Program 2020:
During Weeks 6 & 7, the IMSS teachers will be looking at groups of students in Years 2,3 & 4 who have expressed an interest in learning an instrument through this program. Students need to have achieved a relatively high score in the “IMSS Musical Aptitude Test” and need to meet the other required criteria in order to be considered for a placement in this program. If your child is successful, a note of “Expression of Interest” will be sent home. Parents are also expected to attend a Parent Information evening meeting held on Thursday 5th December at Rossmoyne SHS if their child is chosen for this program.
