Music Soiree
To enable as many students, IMSS teachers and families to be able to attend our Music Soiree we have had to make another change of date, making our Soiree on Tuesday 3rd December. Please see the Music Page for more information.
Interschool Athletic Carnival
Over the last two days selected students from Year 3-6 have been involved in an Interschool Athletics Carnival. Students conducted themselves with outstanding behaviour and embraced challenges such as the very hot weather conditions. Congratulations to these students for so clearly displaying our Outside Respect Behaviour Expectation of Show Sportsmanship. Our next newsletter will have a summary of the carnival.
Student Reports
Teachers are currently completing end of year student reports. These reports will be available through Connect from after school on 13th December, 2019. Our final parent workshop for Connect will be held after the Kindergarten Assembly on Friday 22nd November approx. at 9:45am in the school hall. I strongly encourage all parent/carers of Burrendah Primary School to ensure they are able to sign into Connect so they are able to access their child’s report. For any queries please contact Julie Scaramella in Reception.
School Development Days 2020
Our School Development Days(SDD) have been set by our Board for 2020. We have purposefully linked our SDD’s to be similar to local primary schools Rostrata and Willetton Primary Schools. This may mean some of our SDD’s will not be the same as Willetton SHS. Burrendah PS has been able to pre-book quality presenters in ICT and Numeracy for some of our SDD’s next year. See the Dates to Remember Page
OSHClub
I have continued to meet with a number of contractors regarding improving our school facilities over the school break. Some of this work means that only contractors involved can be on-site at the time. This means our Burrendah OSHClub will be held at alternative venues over the entire school holiday break then resume back at Burrendah once school recommences in 2020. OSHClub will be sending information regarding alternative venues out in the coming weeks. I thank our parents in advance for their understanding of this unexpected change in venue and the flexibility of OSHClub in supporting our school needs. Having significant maintenance completed at Burrendah PS at no cost to our school has been very welcome.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Congratulations to Moreau Faction for reaching 750+ points with their gold card tally. Moreau will have free dress tomorrow Friday 15th November. Mrs Horoch and I have been giving out gold cards in the undercover area before school. To receive one of these gold cards a student needs to introduce a student they do not know to one of us. With 714 students currently at Burrendah, it is helping Mrs Horoch and I to learn more student names as well as helping students to meet students they do not already know.
