From the Principal's Desk...

Hello to all Parents, Guardians and Students
It is always impressive to see teaching staff and parents working hand in hand with the best outcomes for students in mind. One of the prime goals of any school is to ensure that every student is enabled to achieve to their best of their ability. Parents would be aware that the Schools’ endeavour is to provide the best possible in education opportunities, in a pastoral and caring environment. It has been a very fulfilling term at the school in this context, and pleasing to witness the continued and growing positive relationships between students, staff and parents as I move around the school.
Over the past fortnight much has transpired. Along with a variety of activities to mark Education Week (May 20 – 24), which included open classrooms and the Simultaneous Reading Day ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ activity, our commitment to the Goulburn Murray Division School Sport Victoria has been a highlight, with students competing in a variety of sports across several year levels. Of note was the Cross Country meet (May 31), where the Cobram AGS has enjoyed significant success.
Our Year Five/Six students braved the cold weather in Ballarat last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to visit Sovereign Hill and other local Ballarat landmarks. All reports have been positive, and staff and students returned happy, if tired, late Friday afternoon to reflect on time away together where experiences were shared and enjoyed, and friendships made and consolidated. Thanks to staff members Mr Kale Watkins, Mr Ben Davis, Ms Vanessa Leonard, Mr Geoff Brown and Mrs Sharonlee Post for volunteering their time and working hard to make this camp a success.
It is important that all students feel valued, happy, safe, and secure and encouraged to participate actively in all aspects of school life from their academic studies to sporting events, cultural pursuits and community service.
Such a foundation enhances their development as resilient, confident, resourceful and compassionate young men and women who are well equipped to face the challenges that come as they move into adulthood.
Parents and guardians can take considerable comfort in the knowledge that all staff members are always focussed on helping students to reach their potential, and take advantage of the opportunities that come their way.
I encourage all parents and guardians to contact me at the school if I can be of any assistance to queries, question or other matters pertaining to the continued improvement and growth of our vibrant school community.
Mr Steve Gale
