Project Compassion

Wonderful news awaited a couple of weeks into this term when the front office staff notified me of our Project Compassion results. Over the many years I have been here we have raised the bar to $5800 as our best result and we have done that twice with around 450 boxes being returned both times. We have never raised more that six thousand dollars but this year our generous school body raised $7004. This great collection will help many communities that Caritas supports. Thank you to all staff, students and families who supported this effort.

Thank you also to our Year Twelve students and Mr Pudney, Mr Harte and Mr Anderson who have serviced Joey’s Van these past two weeks. Year twelve have again been working at St Kilda Mums and this week we venture to St Joseph’s Primary School to assist with reading and several other activities with our neighbours.

SCIP launches next week at year nine and they will participate also in community service events.  All these activities are related to our Living Justice, Living Peace Charter which aims to enact the work and values of Jesus. Thank you to all involved for their great work and care.
