In the Library

Voiceworks

Voiceworks is a national literary journal that features exciting new writing and art by young Australians. Their purpose is to create a space for people under twenty-five to develop their creative and editorial skills and to publish and be paid for their fiction, nonfiction, poetry, art and comics. Each selected piece goes through a collaborative editing process and Voiceworks provides individualised feedback for all unsuccessful submissions.  Voiceworks is published by Express Media; a not for profit organisation that provides support and development for young people in the literary arts. The Express Media office is located in the Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas.

The John Cain Library subscribes to Voiceworks which is a quarterly journal based around a theme. The current issue and back issues are available for loan.

Guidelines for submissions can be found on the Voiceworks website: https://www.voiceworksmag.com.au

Time to return overdue books

With the end of the year approaching, could families please remind students with overdue library books to check their bags, lockers and bedrooms for library books. There are over 400 overdue books, and 111 of these have been on loan since Semester 1! Please return them so that other students can share the joy of reading. We also need to know if books have been lost or damaged – just come and see us in the library.
