Staff and students celebrate at the 2019 Year 12 International Students' Farewell
The 2019 Year 12 Graduation Ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel saw many overseas visitors at the event, they were parents and family members of our international students’ who flew to Melbourne to attend their daughter’s and sons’ graduation ceremony to help celebrating the milestone our international students achieved.
NHS carries a great tradition of parents flying in from overseas to attend their children’ graduation ceremony each year. This year it became a highlight at the graduation event when in her speech principal Sue Harrap acknowledged and thanked 23 overseas families who were at the event: it was wonderful.
The school community is so grateful to these overseas parents for their understanding and support to the school and to assist with their children’s study journey as international students. Congratulations to NHS where the school and families (including overseas families) work together to create a wide learning community for our students to thrive and to achieve success.
Big THANK YOU to all parents of our International Students! We salute you!
The annual International Student Farewell Dinner event was held at a Chinese restaurant in Kew on Wednesday 16 October. The event was a great success and all students and staff attendees thoroughly enjoyed the delightful evening.
In their speeches, school principals and teachers celebrated Year 12 International Students’ time with NHS and congratulated them for their academic achievement and personal growth. Principal Sue Harrap especially thanked our International Students and the Program for making great contribution to the school and the wide community. She also thanked staff for their professionalism and dedication which provided our international students with wonderful opportunities and rich experiences; Ms Harrap highly praised the outstanding work the school undertaken for our international students as it fundamentally helped to shape a bright future for our young global citizens.
International student representatives (Huong An, Vandy, Brian and Scarlett) also spoke to express heartfelt appreciation to the school and their teachers for creating such caring and supportive study environment for them to thrive and to achieve, for preparing them to follow future dreams with gratitude, confidence and readiness.
Teachers gave school gifts to each student to wish them well in their chosen future. The farewell Dinner Party was indeed a lovely evening to remember.
