Directions for 2020
Congratulations to all Year 12 VCE students, who have completed their final formal classes, and are now working hard through the study and exam period. After exams, remember that students can still make appointments with me if they wish to discuss options for 2020, or to change their preferences on VTAC.
The current focus in the careers space is assisting students who have questions about transitions for 2020. If your child is unsure about their course/subject options, or just feeling a bit lost with future direction, encourage them to make a time to catch up with me. Appointments can be make via the following link: http://calendly.com/burgess-booma
Year 12 Students
A reminder that all year 12 students need to check that they have PAID their VTAC application fee. If your fee is not paid by December 14 you will not be eligible to receive an offer for 2020. If you are having financial difficulties, please come and discuss with Booma in M11.
Answering your mobile phone!! A reminder to Year 12 students that tertiary institutions may be trying to contact you via your phone to arrange interview times for courses which you have applied for. We have had contact from some universities flagging that they are having difficulties due to students not answering their phones! Please be mindful of this during the next couple of months as universities work through the process of making offers to their courses.
Results and ATAR access
Student results and ATARs will be released on December 12th 2019. A short video on how to access your 2019 results can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNBmRDjk16E
If any Year 12 student requires assistance after receiving their offer, the careers and wellbeing team will be available to assist until December 19th.

Year 9 Students
Most Year 9 students have now completed their Morrisby interview, which provided an excellent chance to discuss individual results, and to explore how the report can be used over coming years to guide and explore subject and career choices. Well done to all the students who attended on time, and made the most of the opportunity. Thanks also to parents who participated in the event. Students who missed their interview time can see Booma in M11 to request to schedule another time slot for a ‘skype’ interview.
Interested in doing work experience with Victoria Police in 2020?
NHS has the opportunity to nominate ONE student for this opportunity. If you wish to be considered, please go to the careers page on MyNHS and download the expression of interest form under the ‘Work Experience’ tab. This form must be submitted to Booma no later than Thursday 14 November 2019.
It's great that a number of Year 9 students have already been to see me to discuss their plans for work experience next year. Students should be proactive in searching for placements, especially as many are highly sought after. A reminder that our work experience for Year 10s in 2020 will take place from May 11 to May 15.
