Last week Visual Art students from Year 7 & 8 visited the KAWS exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. The purpose of the excursion was to inspire students and give them ideas that could be used in their art making.
The visit to the gallery also gave students the opportunity to view and engage with a range of artworks and discuss, interpret and appreciate the diversity of work by international artists.

The finalists for the Year 7 'Archibald Prize' are now on display in the school foyer, and students and staff will be voting for the winners during Week 6. Students have chosen to represent people who inspire or intrigue them, and have explored various styles of portraiture and representation in coming up with their own interpretations. Some wonderfully creative and skillful approaches are evident in the students' work: come and take a look!
Save the date for the Art Show 2019: Tuesday 3 December. It's always a great night, showcasing student work from Years 7 - 12. We look forward to seeing you there.
