Design Week as featured in The Age
Design and Technology Week was fun-filled and action-packed again this year.
Design and Technology related videos in Connect were accompanied by lunchtime events every day of the week, all celebrating the learning area and provoking discussions around what society and work will be like in the future.
Students took part in coding, robotics, drone racing, air cannon making, virtual reality and more!
We also had a number of students submit entries into the National Design and Technologies competition, "So You Think You Can design". Fingers crossed we do as well as last year where we got 1st and 2nd places, securing the prize of a 3D printer for each student.
A photographer from The Age also visited us to take pictures of the students as the took part in the competition. Northcote High School is widely recognised as a leader in Design and Technologies education and was used as an exemplar to promote the shortage of Technology teachers across Australia.
Thank you to all who took part, especially our staff who again willingly gave up their valuable time to help the students throughout Design and Technologies Week!
