Tennis

On the 25th of March, the year 9/10 boy’s tennis team competed at Brighton Secondary College for the Kingston division title. After not going through to the next round in previous years, we wanted to make sure we won this year and with lots of confidence we knew we could do it. Our A team this year consisted of Hayden Heng, Ayden Kousis, Felix Lichte and Josh Baldsing. Our B team consisted of Stuart Pagel, Connor Tasci, Ollie Pearce, Charlie Evans, Joel Keat and Marlon Rayson-Harwood.

The schools for the A team were split into two pools; pool A consisting of us, Brighton, McKinnon and Westall and pool B consisting of Bentleigh, Parkdale and Mordialloc. After topping our group confidently, we faced off against Parkdale in the semi of the playoffs. After exacting some revenge on the Parkdale team that beat us in 2019 (without dropping a game), we faced off against Brighton again for the number one spot and the ticket into the next round. After one long day and 30 matches played, we managed to beat Brighton and claim the number one spot in Kingston and are now moving onto the next round. The B team also made it through to the final where they played McKinnon, only to lose on points.

We are all happy with how we played and are excited to be moving onto the next round. Overall, it was a great day and we are looking forward to the challenges in the next round as well.
