What a great day! 1032 km were ran on Friday by our fabulous students at St Edward's School.  All children were well behaved and displayed great sportsmanship throughout the day. Congratulations to the winning house this year, Kennedy. A big thank you to the wonderful teachers that helped with everything leading up to the day and on the day - THANK YOU! National Primary Games

A note went home to all Primary aged students to obtain an expression of interest for those students who will be available in the July school holidays to play in the National Primary Games.

The National Primary Games is an inclusive festival of sport which includes 6 different codes for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 catering for teams of all standards over the weekend of 10th and 11th July (this is in the mid-year school holidays). St Edward’s is hoping to enter teams in Rugby League, Netball, Soccer and possible Gymnastics for students who are already participating in Gymnastics at a competitive level.

The festival will be held in Tamworth and our teams will compete against teams as far north as the Sunshine Coast and South to the ACT. The NPG values sportsmanship and inclusivity being the focus of the weekend. The Macquarie Bank Spirit of the Games Award will be presented to a team who best represents this attitude within each of the sports. All teams will play competitive games and every team will participate in a final, no matter their placing.

Costing is yet to be decided as it is a team nomination fee, depending on how many students we have playing and respond to this "expression of interest" will determine the cost.

We are looking for "expressions of interest" from you for your child to see if we will have enough children to make a team and enter the competition. We would also be looking for coaches for the teams. If we have enough students to make a team and register, the coaches of the teams will then be in charge of arranging training times and the running of the team on the day. I will register teams and collect money from individual players.

If your child is interested, please return the note that was sent home to Mrs Gippel by Wednesday 12th May. Remember this is only an expression of interest.

Touch Football

Due to smaller numbers this term, there will be only one Westdale Nippers team, one Souths Nippers team and one Hillvue Senior Boys team.

 Some important dates to remember:

24TH MAY – PRIMARY PRELIM FINALS

31ST MAY – PRIMARY SEMI FINALS

7TH JUNE – NIPPERS LAST DAY

7TH JUNE – PRIMARY GRAND FINAL
