Wellbeing

Last Wednesday it was SWELL Group 3’s turn for art. I was in SWELL Group 3 where we learnt how to make endangered animals out of just a bit of paper. This technique is called origami.

Although it was hard, all of the pieces we made turned out really great. My favourite one that I made was the hummingbird. There were some really tricky folds to do but with a little help from Jen and Faith, I finally did it.

Some other endangered animals people made were the panda, an owl, a whale and some people made bunnies.

I really enjoyed the experience and I hope SWELL Group 4 will also have a lot of fun! I wonder what they will learn and create.

Please visit Mrs. Stewart’s office to see how the clever Bell family have displayed the origami creations. Mrs. Stewart is certainly enjoying her view!

As Therese mentioned last week in the newsletter, our school is raising funds for Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Victoria to further their research into PWS. I share a quote taken from their website.

‘The difference they have made to so many people is just extraordinary and I know there are so many others that would benefit from their work. But they need more funding to make that happen.’

At Our Lady’s we want to contribute to this research so we plan to have an orange dress up day on Monday 17th May. Orange is the chosen colour for the Prader Willi Association.

So please start collecting your gold coin donations and finding anything orange to wear on your feet, heads, wrists or body.

We look forward to being as orange as we can on May 17th.

Have a great week!
