Gourmet Kitchen
Gourmet Kitchen is one of the most delicious activities in the college's Cocurricular Program!

Teacher - Food Studies
Every Thursday morning (before school at 8.00am) a committed, creative and enthusiastic group of students meet to share their mutual interest in cooking and all things 'kitchen'!
This very lucky group has put in an amazing effort so far this year, having learned many skills and producing some amazing products. Due to time constraints and to allow students to learn more complex skills, we usually spend 2 weeks on one product as the recipes are more involved.
So far this year, students have learned to perfect the skills that are needed to produce Chocolate Cupcakes, Hot Cross Buns, Fresh Bread, Breakfast (French Toast or Poached Eggs with Hollandaise Sauce) and Macarons, as well as tried their hand at cake decorating along the way. The results have been a huge success, with students really challenging themselves to produce deliciously high quality and attractive items.
I am also very pleased to say that students do not just focus on great 'foodie' outcomes, they also bring a very positive, enthusiastic attitude to class and share their ideas, skills, talents and experience within the classroom. Working cooperatively, they are also very responsible and respectful of their colleagues and their workspaces.

In Gourmet Kitchen this year I have made Hot Cross Buns, fresh bread, French Toast and macarons. It has been a really fun opportunity to cook at school and make some foods which I have never made before. I have learned some new skills in the kitchen and enjoy working with people and eating the food we make!
