National Pyjama Day

On Friday 21st July students were invited to come to school comfy in their PJs!  Why? To help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care.  We raised $160 dollars as a school which will further assist this wonderful organisation and all they do.

Have you heard your children talking about GOTCHAS?

These are used to recognise students when they are displaying school expectations.  Each week they are used at assembly for a prize draw and are tallied in classrooms  for whole class incentives (see below).

In addition to this the school has been given the challenge of collecting 2500 for the term as a collective for a whole school reward.

Mindfulness

Children at St Joseph's engage in Mindfulness practice daily within their classrooms.  Staff are noticing the positive impacts of these moments when they are in the play spaces outside and when they reenter for learning and being ready to learn.

These practices change daily to allow children to experience different ways of being mindful and resettle their brains to allow clear thought and ability to problem solve.  One way we engage with mindfulness is through a Body Scan.  Take 5 minutes for yourself to enjoy!
