Messages from Mrs Trewick

WE ARE PEOPLE OF STRENGTH - WE ARE PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.

It has been great to watch our children flourish as they participate in different learning opportunities.

Lions Public Speaking

Congratulations to all students that entered the school based competition.

Last week, Ruby Connelly and Sophie Connelly represented St Joseph's at the Rochester competition. THEY WON!

We look forward to supporting them on Sunday in Lockington.

Sandhurst Arts on Show

Grade 5/6 are preparing for Sandhurst Arts on Show. ASPA (Australian School of Performing Arts) will visit 4 times before Tuesday 5th September to teach the children songs and dances.

Parents and Friends will be welcome at the performance in Echuca at St Mary's. More information will come when it is available.

Breakfast

There is a large number of children coming to school without eating breakfast every day. In some instances, there might be 5 or 6 children in each classroom.

We are thinking creatively for providing breakfast for the children however, the numbers not eating breakfast is concerning. Children that eat breakfast usually come to school ready to learn.

Please let us know if you need support for your child eating breakfast each morning.

Rochester Secondary College

We are thrilled to welcome students from Rochester Secondary College back!

This week we have had visits from Duke of Ed students and students in the Reading Buddies Program. We love connecting with our peers from Rochester Secondary College.

2024 Enrolments

We were thrilled to welcome some 2024 Foundation students and their families to our school on Tuesday evening. We were able to talk about how children learn at St Joseph's and provide some examples of learning that happens in the classroom.

If you were unable to attend and would like a tour of the school we encourage you to ring the school office on 5484 1797. We would be thrilled to share our facilities with you and to talk more about the learning opportunities we offer.

Building Update

Kildare Centre - the floor will be laid soon, with the walls following quickly. We are confident that we will celebrate the end of term in the Kildare Centre.

Main building - we are still waiting on some permits. While we wait patiently, the builders are working in the background to prepare for the concrete slab to be poured.

As always, we are here to support your family as much as your children. Please let us know how we can support you all.

Take care and stay in touch.
