This term's Inquiry focus is on geography, with children exploring countries/ continents and the environmental impact of humans (both positive and negative).

In Years 5 and 6, the major curriculum focus is on the concepts of place and interconnection. Lessons and activities help to develop students' mental maps of the world by learning the locations of major countries, and the continents with particular attention to the Asia region, Europe and North America.

Key questions:

  • How do places, people and cultures differ across the world?
  • How do people’s connections to places affect their perception of them?
  • How do people and environments influence one another?
