School Production Updates

INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES - MATINEE & EVENING

Below you will find critical information to support your child and the school to ensure a very smooth running production.

Thursday Morning

Students are expected to arrive on time for roll marking, in their regular school uniform (clearly labelled items) and in readiness to walk over to the theatre with their teacher.

By 9:30 am all students and staff will be at the Cripps Theatre. Late arrivals due to unavoidable appointments/circumstances will need to go directly to the office to meet Mrs. Campbell to be taken over to the theatre.

Students will need: Packed lunch, morning tea, drink bottle (all clearly labelled) all packed in a small carry bag/backpack or their school bag. Students are permitted to bring something to occupy their time at the theatre, but NO digital devices will be allowed. Please do not send any valuable items.

NO LUNCH ORDERS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THIS DAY

Students will change for the Matinee performance at the Cripps Theatre. Our teachers and parent volunteers will assist with costume changes and makeup.

Thursday Afternoon

The matinee performance begins at 1:00pm. We anticipate that the show will end at 3:00 pm. This means that the whole school will likely return by 3.30pm. Students will return in their costumes to be collected by their parents/carers.

NO student is permitted to be collected at the theatre after the performance unless their parent is part of the main production team and with prior notification!

NB: Our teachers have a duty of care to ensure the safety of all students in their class. They do not have the capacity to sign out students to their families, whilst also trying to gather the students safely and return promptly to school.

All parents/carers who attend the matinee performance will need to return to the school for student collection.

Thursday Evening

Students will need to arrive at the theatre fully dressed in their costumes and makeup no earlier or later than 6:15 pm. They will need their drink bottles, warm jackets and something small to occupy their time backstage.

Below you will find a map that specifies our STUDENT DROP-OFF POINT.

This is located at the front of the theatre at the main entry. There will be four staff members each representative of a year level. You will need to register/sign in your child with the specific staff member. Until this is complete they cannot enter the theatre.

PLEASE do not simply drop off your children as you will distress them and they will not know what to do. We will show these points to your children, but we cannot guarantee they will remember where to go so late in the evening. At the conclusion of the show, parents/carers will need to go to the designated STUDENT COLLECTION AREAS inside the theatre on the attached map.

Once again you will need to meet your child's classroom teacher to sign them out. Please go to the youngest child first.

We kindly request that other family members leave the theatre promptly to allow the safe collection of students across the school.

NB: Foundation families will need to remain seated inside the theatre and collect their children from the stage, once all other children have left. NB: If you are not attending the evening performance, please be at the theatre on time to collect your child. This is likely to be at 8:45 or 9:00 and no later.

We know this is a lot of information to digest, but there will be maps at the theatre and staff who will assist you on the night. Please be patient with us as kindness must prevail at such stressful times.

We are all doing our best for the students to shine on stage and that's the most important aspect of this show. Our students cannot wait to entertain you.

The parent helpers we have doing makeup are supporting the matinee show ONLY. If your child's costume has a makeup element (YR3/4) -

Parents/Caregivers will need to do student makeup for the evening show before arrival at 6:15 pm.

  • Students to arrive at school in school uniform (parents to name all school clothing, including socks!)
  • Students will change into their costumes at Caulfield Grammar School.
  • Parent helpers will be there to help with make-up for the 3/4's (zombies etc.) for the matinee show ONLY.  Check COMPASS for the makeup guides.

  • Parent helpers will fix makeup/costumes (if need be) - For the matinee only.
  • Students will return to Caulfield Grammar at @6:15PM in full costume and makeup, ready to rock, for the evening show.
