WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement.

The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians has been selected to participate in this year’s survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Gus Gordon - Author Visit - Monday 14th August

We are excited to introduce you to the talented and enchanting world of children's literature through the works of Gus Gordon, an accomplished and beloved author whose stories have captured the hearts and imaginations of readers worldwide.

Gus Gordon is a gifted writer and illustrator who has been enchanting young minds for many years. His unique storytelling style and whimsical illustrations transport readers to magical worlds filled with adventure, friendship, and life lessons. His books have become a staple in many homes and classrooms, as they not only entertain but also educate and inspire young readers.

As part of our commitment to fostering a love for reading and literature, we are delighted to announce that we will be incorporating some of Gus Gordon's books into our curriculum. Teachers will use these captivating stories as springboards for discussions about themes such as empathy, resilience, and the importance of following one's dreams.

Additionally, we are excited to share that Gus Gordon will be visiting our school in the coming month. His author visits provide a unique opportunity for students to engage with the creative mind behind the stories they love. Through interactive sessions and workshops, Gus will inspire our young readers to embrace their creativity and explore the wonders of storytelling.

We hope that by introducing Gus Gordon's work to our students, we can spark a lifelong love for reading and ignite the flames of imagination within each child. As parents and educators, we can all play a role in nurturing the literary interests of our young ones and opening doors to new worlds through the pages of books.

RPS SUPPORTS LOCAL FOOD DRIVE

Hi Ripper Families,

I’m here to let you know about the food drive I’ve organised. Some of you might recall that we had food drives in the past but sadly after COVID struck we did not have them anymore and I would like to bring them back!!

When my Mum was on Facebook she saw that Christ Church Community Centre was running low on supplies for their community pantry. I sent them an email to see if they wanted some extra food and they said yes.

All the food collected will be donated to them.  I have also noticed that food prices have gone up and  I’m sure the extra food we collect would be very much appreciated. There will be posters around the school stating what you need to donate. The food drive starts on the 18th of August and ends on the 25th of August. All the food items can be dropped off at the school office.

With your support, it will be much easier. I hope all Ripper families can support me to make this successful!!

Thank you.

Sofie 3/4C.
